We are looking forward to continuing the ’Something More Gets Creative’ project in November. As a sequel to the ‘Something More’ training programme that was specifically designed to build psychological resilience in vulnerable women, The Cultural Sisters have worked with 9 women from the Telford and Wrekin area using creative processes to increase self esteem and confidence whilst also looking at the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ (www.neweconomics.org).

Participants from the project took creative work home from the sessions to complete and develop in their own time and with their families. Participants’ feedback has been positive with all reporting an increase in their confidence levels and a commitment to continue using their creative skills.

We are very happy to now be part of the Speight family! We have been working with The Speight of the Art Foundation since May 2011. The Foundation was set up as a legacy for and to celebrate the life of Mark Speight.

The Cultural Sisters have been commissioned by the Community and Learning Partnership for Newcastle under Lyme and Clayton to deliver a creative project in primary and high schools, focussing on themes of community cohesion and friendship. The project continues until September 2011.
