Its Good to be You

In 2011 The Cultural Sisters worked with pupils and staff from class 8(4) at Sutton School in Dudley to create a textile banner to promote positive emotional health and wellbeing in the school.

The project was supported by Dudley TaMHs, Dudley NHS and praXis.

The school staff were particularly interested in using creative processes that were new to them and exploring the issues of ‘asking for help’ and ‘sharing your feelings’ with the pupils, whilst making an artwork that could be displayed for up to 5 years in the school.

Two banners were made by the group, one is now presented in the main hall for all to see and the other is used as a classroom resource encouraging the pupils to express their feelings and ask others how they are feeling.
